Program Overview:

Have you ever had an awkward meeting with a grieving family? Do you want to improve your
ability to compassionately assist your clients?

On the surface, Trust officers and attorneys don’t seem to have much common with hospice
chaplains. But we both have an important role in preparing a person, and their family, for
someone’s death as well as their life afterwards. While the reasons and timing of our
engagement differ, our roles each help people prepare for the inevitable.

This talk will offer practical ways to engage with the bereaved, consider our own cultural
understanding of grief, and provide hope for your ability to serve in the future.
